So I have never owned a scooter and I bought this one used on Craigslist. I went in knowing about the mixed reviews of Chinese scooters. (It is winter where I am at for the next month with temperatures sometimes being decent and sometimes 25 degrees). The first few days I rode it around the block just to keep it warm . The previous owner only put 300 miles on it. It would always take multiple tries to get it to start and giving it some gas but after 4 or 5 tries it would always start (again it is very cold). Then today I tried (today was very very cold 20 degrees) and it kept sputtering and then eventually the battery started to go. When I put the keys in the lights come on and everything is normal but when I go to start it now it will turn off super fast but then sputter after a second (sorry I don't know technical terms). Did I ruin the battery or if I recharged it by jump starting it with a car (leave the car off I know) would the battery be okay? Also what are some general maintenance things I should do before I really start to ride it? It is in great shape except the exhaust pipe (I think it is) is rusted pretty bad on the outside. And if I do have to get a new battery where should I go? Sorry for all the questions I am very new at this and I spent a lot of money so I want it to work out. Last question- if somebody could give me a general idea of what I can do to get the scooter to tip top shape- without breaking my wallet. New battery if I have to. Alright- thanks!! Help!!!!
