it's a ground problem,,had that on a few fiberglass fendered cars i built,,,electricity will seek a path quite like water,,,if they didn't mess with the wires you lost the ground to the rear lite pod somehow

There are a few cars with cvt style transmissions,,,the belt kind in scooters are too inefficient,,,,take your scoot out for a fast blast and tell me how hot it gets,,,I couldn't touch my Vespa's cover after a run,,,,too much wasted power,,,this is why my Stella gets such great mileage,,,manual transmission with a clutch,,,well over 100 mpg ( genuine touts 140,,, which I consider the biggest BS story on the planet),,,direct drive is the way to go for me anyways,,,,most people prefer an auto,,,,this is the way things are going,,,,as far as these cool units go I never gave them much thought ,,,but I will now

Living in SoCal the sun can get viscious,,all my bikes are covered at all times whether in the garage or at my studio in the parking lot,,,shady spot ,,covered,,,,I never have my machines in the sun for more than a few minutes ,,,like jumping off and running into a store,,,even then I'll walk further if there's a shade spot under a tree

If so it is the speedo drive ring and yes you need that to "drive"the speedo cable

The little tube is a spacer that keeps the wheel indexed in the forks correctly

You may be a tad lean on the main jet,,,that's a distinct possibility

Also if you look at the drawings ,,,there are no valve springs,,,,20-25% of a conventional engines power goes to just running its valve train and that's where a bunch of heat is generated too,,,so I think there's a bunch of innovation going on ,,,

HA HA!!! As A child I saw my first Stud Baker Truck ---- That's how I pronounced the Studebaker truck while learning to read--- My father still teases me EVERY time we see a Stud Baker........... ( inside joke ) I own a Merc. Cougar BTW.... It's a 92 XR7.... Not quite the same thing but, considered a "classic" next year..... T-birds and Cougars from the 's are basicly the same car--- Your opinion may very on what looks better. As for the Gurney Engine, Kudos for engeneering design-- Looks a lot like current in line engines-- I find it Amazing with all the new Technology out there, No REAL innovation has been made yet. No real creative ideas except how to copy other ideas more efficiently........ ,,,Go back and read the article again,,,the intake ports alone are very innovative and create more power just in it's shape,,, gurney is making more power with the same size engine,,,with self canceling vibration to boot,,,,lots of innovation in that engine,,,
