When looking for parts search by " 139QMB " which is the engine type used in the 4T 50s in the China scoots instead of by brand and model of a China scooter . The best way to get more power is a BBK or 80cc crate engine . Here is some performance goodies www.scrappydogscooters.com/139QMB_50cc_Performance.htmlIf it were mine I would definitely look into this, but then again I would have probably bought a 150cc since I am big guy. I am going to definitely jet it and switch out the variator and weights since we do a lot of RVing in hilly areas. Thanks!

From what I've been reading its kinda trial and error. I thought I was going to be able to just buy 5/ 6 gram sliders or rollers and just be done with it. I guess not. Thanks for all the info.

Alley, Thanks for the break down
Ramblin, What are you running? My wife would flip out if I added a tach to her scoot... I think Im just going to buy some 5 gram slider weights and new variator. I'll go from there...
Whats the difference between slider and roller? Is one better then the other?

The scooter was bought for my wife. Im just looking to get the most out of the scooter. Do I have to chose one or the other? Is there a middle ground? If I had to chose I guess I would say torque if that doesn't compromise its current top speed. If I replaced both would it just cancel each other out?

I did a search on the forum for this and I came up empty. I don't understand the concept and I would like to know what your running and why on your 50cc scoot?
Thanks in advance,
DJ

My wife bought her BMS federal 50. They were good to us. The customer service was good. We called about a problem yesterday. We talked to CSR named Jeff and I exchanged emails with Emily. We got our answer here on the forum but they did not hesitate to offer to look at the scooter and make it right. I would not hesitate to buy another scooter from them.

Check the Valve Cover Vent Hose it may be KINKED or clogged wherever it connects to. That has to VENT otherwise the pressure in the crankcase will cause what yours is doing. Alleyoop I checked it out and this was exactly what happened. It was a kink indeed. Thanks for your help!

Got it. Where does the vent connect to? The air box? Is that PVC valve one way?
I'll let you know how it turns out.

I was looking for a breather on the crank case. I didn't realize it might be on the valve cover. Does .8L sound correct for the capacity? I kind of thought it was a little odd that the oil didn't want to drain out until I unscrewed the dipstick.

The users manual says that the oil capacity is .9L. I emailed BMS and they said its .8L. I cant even get .8L in the case. It takes the oil in super slow and seems to trap air bubbles. I drained the oil twice on level ground and let it drain out for at least 30mins with the dipstick pulled out just to make sure I got it all out. The second time I got about .7 L in still seemed overly full and started the motor. I let it sit for about 30 seconds and pulled the dipstick and oil came gushing out. Why is there pressure being built up in my motor? Is that normal? Any feed back would be great.
Thanks!
