No one? I'm sure the chassis is similar to other Chinese scoots... anyone know how to take those other ones apart?

 Try as I might, I can't seem to get the front handlebar/headlight shield off in order to access the bulb. I unscrewed a couple screws that seem to be in that area but it won't budge. It sort of seems like I have to take off my rearviews in order to access this thing. Anyone have any experience with this? Much appreciated! |

Thanks all for the kind feedback. I appreciate no one biting off my head for asking eye-rollingly simple questions!
Luckily the mechanic who sold me the scoot is willing to come help me fix it. I'm going to print out the photo Alleyoop posted for reference.
And definitely keep in mind all of the stuff y'all have said about how to treat a kickstarter from now on!

I'm waiting on tools to open the CVT... but do you think it's more likely that it's just misaligned or do you think I'll need all new parts?

Hi everyone,
I'm an absolute newbie when it comes to scooters, so please take that into consideration because I have little to no knowledge about this stuff.
I just bought a secondhand 2004 Meitian scooter to get to school.
The kickstarter was working all of yesterday and I rode the thing a couple blocks. Today I was trying to start the scoot and the electric wasn't working so I tried the kickstarter a couple times. Now it seems jammed and stuck in the UP position. I decided to leave as is for now.
I got the electric working, but when the engine turns and starts, it makes a high-pitched screeching sound. Is that because the kickstarter is stuck in that position? Is there a problem trying to start the engine electrically and with the kickstarter stuck?
