You did read the part about the starter kicking in and working fine? This is not a battery issue.

Starter relay?
Hit the starter button and get a click, that's all. Will happen a few times and then the starter kicks in and everything is fine. Sounds like starter relay to me, everyone agree? Best place to buy one? Thanks!

So far the changes you have made to the carburetor have only affected the low and mid-range mixture. The only way to change the high speed mixture is to change the main jet. It would help to know what size jet is in there now as a baseline. Plus is light tan.

OK my 150 California-legal bike is s till knocking, bad.
Put in lighter Dr Pulley rollers to get the RPM up into the power band. Raised the carb needle but only the tiniest bit because it isn't adjustable so used a very small washer. Set mix to max rich, was quite lean. Hot coil. Good plug. Premium gas.
Still knocks. I am still suspicious that this California carburetor is set way lean. It's a Deni brand. I'm thinking for California compliance maybe they jetted down a lot and I can jet up. It is a real pain in the butt to remove the carb so i only want to do it once. Since this is supposedly a good carb I don't see any benefit in replacing it, just think I should jet up. Timing appears correct.
Thoughts?

Thanks for that reminder - I had not moved the needle up. Done now but my carb does not have an adjustable needle, so all I could do is slip a tiny washer and raise it a small amount. No further raise is possible. I got it up maybe 1/64 inch. not much. And adjusted the mixture. I have a couple other things going on right now so I can't test it until next week. Have to get rid of engine knock before I destroy the engine so if this doesn't work...well I'll have to see.

150cc AC.
What is the best jet size (sizes) considering I live at 3300 feet elevation and never get below 2500 feet?
I have a Deni but no idea what's in it right now other than I think it's just not getting enough petro-chemical.

I too had to create a new account. Not a big deal for me, but for those with a lot of history it may be irritating to lose their post history.

OK progress - somewhat.
Mine is a California scoot which means it is even more lean that normal for these already too-lean machines. So that advice to enrichen made sense. I did that and it made a big difference, but didn't entirely cure the knock.
So I'm wondering, might I still need more fuel, by jetting up? Considering again this is a California lean carb, maybe it has a small jet in it?
Gotta keep at this and get rid of that knock!

If I had a bike under warranty leaking oil I would be on the phone immediately. Why on earth would you just accept it?? Make them fix it. Because it takes all but a lawsuit to get warranty performance. And if this is a common thing that likely means a new or reworked case is just going to leak so why bother? It may be a chronic problem and no sense beating my head against the wall because of it.

[replyingto=jrt]Paladin[/replyingto]No thanks, don't need any pictures. As posted just curious if they are as bad as I have found them to be, and from what I've read the answer is yes.

300 miles on a new Znen BMS 150.
At about 200 miles it developed an oil leak from engine, not final drive. Cleaned and tracked - it's from the case half, gasket, not from end seals. About one-tenth ounce per ride, maybe less, not too bad - yet.
My question is this ... Is this just something we live with on these engines? Should I even try to get warranty relief or just accept these thing drip oil?

Bought mine from Superior and had some hassles but not much. However when I tried to contact them on a warranty claim - nothing. No response no acknowledgement - nothing.
