One of the most common mistakes when making a u-turn is eye position. Your ride tends to go where you are looking. If you are looking at your front wheel, or just in front of it, you will have a hard time making a smooth turn. You need to look where you are going, and for a u-turn that's almost over your shoulder. Your body and your ride will follow your eyes.

FYI- The filler in electronic components is there for several reasons. 1- protection from thermal shock, sudden changes in temp like those in an engine compartment can cause wires, connectors, and components to crack or short circuit 2- protection from moisture, enclosed components can trap moisture, leading to damage such as short circuits, resin (plastic) and some types of sand will protect the component 3- protection from vibration, resins are especially good and preventing vibration damage 4- protecting circuit design from reverse engineering There are other reasons, and many different materials that can be used. Bottom line, the presence of sand or resins does not indicate an inferior product. Here's some info from a manufacturer of "fillers": www.sealantequipment.com/technical/potting-electronics.htm

I saw a thread somewhere in which the poster put a three foot or so intake manifold on facing forward. It ran up towards the front fairing, and was calculated to give a resonance boost supposedly. Unfortunately my search-fu is weak, but I'll keep looking for that thread.

Good to hear from you Dan, great job on this build! Thanks! I have been staying busy these days building engine after engine.... You still have your 16" wheel scooter with the BN157QMJ-3 engine? I recall you couldn't find a stroker for it? Has that changed? Look what I now have access to... Yummy! I'll be in contact with you about that early next year, thanks!

Excellent write up on a cheap O2 sensor solution! You should copy this to a thread in the Tips & Tricks section!

Welcome to the forum! We will help you get her going again. You need to do some basic maintenance. 1- take your carb off, remove the bottom, and use carb cleaner to clean EVERY hole/opening 2- set your valves 3- check your spark plug to be sure it isn't fouled 4- tune the carb We have a good video library here that will show you how to clean your carb and set the valves. Once that's done, follow these instructions to tune your carb: itistheride.boards.net/thread/12/4ts-carb-tuningAsk any questions you come up with, we are all happy to help!

Yep, a former boss of mine was doing a 20mph test ride on his dirt bike after making adjustments. He went down in front of his house at low speeds, and still ended up with enough road rash to put him out of commission for two weeks!

i like the idea,,but battery life and range are issues at least for me,,,and i'd like the idea even better with some kind of solar charge arrangement like foldable panels that could be deployed for quick charging while you were at work or any time its parked in the daytime so youre always "topped up",,,i think a hybrid arrangement is best for right now,,,a very small 25-30cc engine to run a generator so it's always being charged ,,,kinda like a train locomotive Or just make the bodies entirely solar panels haha. Just be careful not to scratch it cuz you can't get a paint job. Unfortunately, solar panels have to all be in the light to work properly, any panel in shade throws off the entire system. This can be worked around with lots of extra electronics, but even then the efficiency drops by huge amounts, and the price skyrockets. This is why electric cars are not covered in panels yet.

Just my two cents, if the listing doesn't have the specifics you need to make an informed purchase, a phone call is necessary to be sure it is what you want before ordering. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to parts, so you have to do your due dilligence.

It would be interesting to see some results comparing stock, free-flow, and 2T expansion chambered exhuasts on a 4T.

Excellent video Joey! I look forward to more! Thank you for the kind words. It was a fun project, and something different to try. It's a little rough around the edges in some places, but that can be worked on. For the next video I'm debating between testing spark plugs or cutting open several blue "racing" CDIs looking for sand. CDIs!
