Makes you wonder what they use to use before they had synthetic oils doesn't it? I use Rotella 15-40w because it has the highest ZDDP additive for modern oil. What is ZDDP? Well it is something that all non-roller cam engines need to cushion impact on the valve train. I also add STP oil additive to boost the ZDDP in all my older motors that have non-roller cams. Also, it is just a great oil. I use 15-40w Rotella also, as recomended by my mechanic. He uses it in all gy6 he works on from scoots to atvs and go carts. I trust him since he is a great mechanic and he is also family.

Nice! I really like that CVT cover and the lights. Dunno where you are but here in Jacksonville FL you can't drive around with any red or blue lights on like that. Some BS about emergency vehicles. Least that's what the cop told me many years ago. In NC, as long as they are not flashing the cops don't bother you. You see larger bikes lit up like christmas trees, so I figured "Why not?" Im in NC and I got pulled for the blue lights on my old ETON back in 2013. The lights I had wasnt flashing. So I guess you got lucky. They just gave me a warning and made me cut them off while riding.

Not kidding about the weather. It does not affect my ride any when ridding in rain, but I dont ride in rain unless it starts before I get home. I have rode after it rains plenty when the roads are still wet tho. As for washing my scoot, I try to keep as much water away from my cvt when doing so. But it doesnt affect my ride either way. The scooter this is on is a 2008 TANK Urban Sport 50 so its not much anyway but it does get to 40-43 mph on flat ground and that is gps certified as my speedometer isnt working. I got it used and as far as I know its still stock except for the coil, cdi, air filter and muffler.

I done this to mine and I have had absolutely no problems with weather, debris, clothes or body parts getting caught. I had to do something to keep it cooler. Nothing but a hacksaw and metal file to cut and shape and a few passes with a spray paint can to get it done. Also now that mine is in 2 parts I can work on the variator or the clutch without taking the whole cover off. Just remove front or rear depending on which side Im doing work to.
