Happy 4th to all of you crazy scooterists and pyros! We're having our traditional "get together" this year. Probably will be picking up some more fireworks up today.
Probably my favorite holiday. I paid a dude I work with $50 to cover my shift--- it wasn't really an option to leave early this year.
So, we'll be cooking out and shooting off some pyro--SAFELY.
I hope you all have a good one!

I guess I need a paper shredder, because I'm having a hard time imagining that sound coming from a scooter. I'd rip the CVT cover off like mentioned above. That is a 2-stroke, right?
Taking the CVT cover off is simple. Nothing pops out at you like a Jack-in-the-box either. No rear tire removal required. Once the cover is off, you're going to need an impact wrench of some sort, or a way to stop both pulleys that the belt rides on, from moving. Probably not going to gain a whole lot of info, just by just taking the cover off. You will, sooner or later, need to inspect/replace the belt...rollers..v-guides/slides.
It's mandatory, IMO.

The issue of heating it that hot is risk of damaging crank seal and or chain guide depending what side it is on. It's the upper left head bolt-- the crank seal(oil seal?) and chain guide/area isn't really an issue. I'm a little concerned about the base of the engine, although I'm not sure heating it to near or red hot, would be a problem.
