Yeah, I know a 200cc or better scooter would work bes. The problem is, the only one's in that range I can afford around here is used Chinese models. My other options are new 150cc flyscooters with warrenties from a dealer, or used 150cc sym, stella, or other scooters off craigslist.

Well, I already know I need at least a 150cc scooter. See I can get around town easy, the city bus is free for college students. However, all the good shopping is in the next town over, 8 miles down a 55mph road. And that is what I will mostly be using the scooter for. But a couple times a year (spring break, ect), I will want something I can ride the 400 miles home on, taking the 50 mph side roads, except when I go through the mountain pass, which means I need something that can go 60 mph over a mountain pass for about 45 minutes. Is this something I can expect from a scooter?

Have had 2 motorcycles now and just had a random good offer on my last bike. Since I'm off to college next month, I thought I might just go buy an inexpensive scooter to get around on. Right now I'm just in the research phase, deciding what I should be looking for, so I thought I'd join in here and get advice.
