i bought a 49 cc bashan scooter last fall to ride to work, rode it no problems till the weather got bad, put a tarp on it and parked it under the porch, with a good shot of seafaom in the gas. went to start it up a little while ago, charged the battery, cleaned the plug, all that good stuff, and no go. checked the plug, getting spark. sucked the old gas out of the tank and put in fresh new gas with a little seafoam in it, and still no go. so i took the carb off, opened it up, and found this sludge that looks like petroleum jelly in the bowl of the carb. no idea what this is, buying some carb cleaner today, hoping this will fix it. any advice in the mean time? like what this stuff is, and how i can prevent it from ever happening again?
