I do live in Topeka, which is about an hour from the border. I am assuming if they had any brains at all that they would drive it to Missouri to sell it. I did post on the wanted section of craigslist for "scooter parts" incase they tried to part it out and I could catch them. But maybe I will try posting in Lost & Found and on the Motorcycle section to get the word out that It is stolen. I do have the VIN number and have given it to the Police as well as the Tag number. But it is very easy to just scratch off the VIN.

Hey everyone, Last week my scoot got stolen right in front of my apartments (I live on the good side of town, or so I thought). I just moved here in March for my new job since graduating. I have the scoot registered with the state, but I never insured it, therefore I cannot file a claim with theft insurance :/ My question is for other people who have gotten their scoots stolen and recovered. How long did it take for police to find it? Unless of course they tore it up for parts. I have posted fliers around the area, but no leads so far. When should I just loose hope and move on? I bought it broken down almost 2 years ago for getting around college easier and fixed it up. It always had problems, but I was always working on it and loved to work on it, you guys on the forums helped me so much when I first got it and I appreciated every response I would get. It is more of an emotional loss to me than anything. I will learn from this in the future and next time buy some locks to hopefully deter thieves from wanting to steal. Thanks in advance for any and all responses! P.S. A warning to all thinking junky scooters wont get stolen, mine was very ugly looking (scratches all over, melted headlamp, broken pieces, etc).
