Rick, I read about your scooter dilemma all the way to the end. Very informative and of course you cant get better answers than Alleyoop. However, the one answer I wanted never got answered since it was at the end of my page. The question was-- What is the spark plug gap? So please tell me the answer.

2012 tao tao with new battery. Replaced starter and lastly a new starter relay yesterday. The scooter started & ran perfectly except for an xtra zing when it was cranked. Today, there's no cranking or starting. What's the next move?

I have a 49-50cc TaoTao 2012. Battery was replaced, then a new starter. Now the scooter won't start, not even try to turn over. The motor turns manually, the battery is fully charged. Bolts on the solenoid were loose and tightened. Next step may be to jump the solenoid unless the experts advise differently. thanks, Blu.

hi Roman. I tried to type this once but it mustve gone to cyber land. Well, anyhow, I was welcoming you as a suburban Chicagoan from a longtime Chi-Town oldie transplanted to South Florida. Still miss the lake & Chicago skyline, as well as Chicago pizza and genuine Chinese food. I even miss the snow (in small doses) lol. Enjoy the forum; there's a wealth of knowledge here. Ride safe.
