First I'm new, and one of your senior members "alleyoop" thread 4902 identified different emission systems, but he hasn't been on since 2015, another thing your main page shows s off-road and ATV but all in here seems to be scooters only.
Anyhow I have this dirt bike bamx voyager 150 2007 I believe and the crankcase breather ,hose fell off. There was this other hose with a plastic thing foam filter in it , it used to just dangle, but looked like it went to the crankcase breather hose but now the bike runs to rich. In the picture I have it hooked to the crankcase breather with the zip tie picture, but I'm wondering if it should not be hooked to the breather. There is no air box, just filter on carb or no other canisters just the parts in the picture. The little vacuum hose before carb and the one in the picture to the head, and the other large hose with the filter in that black plastic piece, witch is in question, is it suppose just let air in ,or does it suppose to be hooked to the crankcase breather hose like I have it?

Can you back up a little with the pics?,,,kinda hard to tell what goes where with such close up views,,,the top pic seems to have the vent going to some sort of valve with a thumb lever on it,,,thanks

The crankcase ventilation hose normally runs from the valve cover to the airbox. You say you have no airbox.....so yours should vent to the atmosphere. Some people tie the hose to a high location on the frame, with a cheap fuel filter on the end of it, to keep trash out......others let them dangle, and drip. Still others make or install a catch can to collect the condensed material being expelled. Bottom line.....it must vent. From your photo, we don't know if yours is venting or not.....because we don't know where the hose on the other end of the small black canister goes.
If it is not a necessary vacuum hose, fuel line, or vent line (such as the crankcase, or fuel tank).....get rid of it. That's just my opinion....and what I did before ever starting my scoot.

No it's not venting to air now in the picture ,I hooked it to that black thing that has a filter in it . Looked like it went there ,then the other side of the piece your calling a black canister is , goes back to that metal box with vacuum hose to carburator and and hose to head. It wasntt connected before but looked like it went there. I didn't know if it was connected before. Without breather connected to that black piece with filter in it you call a canister, air seems to pulsate at it when I put a piece of plastic next to the hole, and at full throttle suck air. My brother bought it in or here 2007 and dont remember. One person told me to just clamp that hose off to the metal box, since there isn't a separate valve cover breather hose ,and to have the crankcase to just go to air. I don't know it that is right though. The way he said if in that case that is how the valve cover breaths to just clamp it off.

Vent the breather hose to the atmosphere. This link will help you understand what the other parts in question are for. If it were mine.....all that stuff would be gone. emissions sys

If I got a blanking plate for the head eliminating all that stuff wouldn't I need a different valve cover that had a place to connect a breather hose?

Ok, thanks a lot, I,m going to order one of those 3 dollar crankcase vents online . I will let that long hose suck air believing it is a pair system ,injectinig fresh air into the exhaust, unless someone tells me otherwise. Down the road I,ll look into maybe removing all of it.
