Hey everyone! I have a 2002 Vino 50 2T which had a Malossi 70cc kit installed. Ran great with #70 main jet and stock exhaust although acceleration was almost the same as stock until 30-35mph, when the powerband hit and the scooter took off through ~44mph.
I installed an MHR replica pipe and checked all nuts and bolts to ensure no air leaks. Acceleratoin got worse under ~30-35mph but when the powerband hits, the bike screams as it should and shoots up to 50.
Tried a #75 jet and got even worse acceleration and couldn't get above 28mph. Got the best results with the stock #64 jet but acceleration is still slower than stock.
Ideas? Too small a jet? Variator work needed? Thank you guys!

Heavier torque spring, maybe. Your power band has moved higher up the Rev range.

Ok, well this morning the scooter would refuse to start up with that 64 jet. Figured it was too little gas, so I put on the 70 jet back. Ran OK, but still backfires and is sluggish until higher speeds. Should I try another jet or heavy torque spring?

Backfire usually suggests that you need a bigger main jet.

The Pipe Raised the Power-band in the RPM Range even More. Thats not that big of a deal. Your CVT/Clutch is most likely Engaging and Shifting Into a Higher Ratio Way Too Soon. So then She Wont Get Out of her Own Way. If you had a Gear bike you would just keep it in a lower gear longer to compensate for this. 2-T pipes are a whole different animal the what is available for the GY-6 4-T's, They will Require Jetting. Of Both/all the Pilot Jet and Main Jet, Jet needle Position.. I saw No Mention of you changing Pilot "low speed" Jets? Bro you especially with this Pipe and 70cc kit you will have to Jet the Low end. The Main Jet Mainly Provided Fuel in the Top End/ Wide Open. Pay attention to your Tach, if not Get One, you'll be able to see What I call "Just off the Pipe" this would be the RPM just under Were the Engine Hits. "The Pipe" or "On the Pipe" means your you in the Meat of the Power-Band. Your gunna hav to get close on the Jetting so as you can tune the CVT. On the Two Smoker pull and read the Plug, Take a Picture on you Plug and post it, and What kind of 2-T oil do you use?
