I haven't ridden in almost two weeks...not since finishing my recent road trip. I don't really find I wish I did. Wonder if it might be time to think about selling the Burg...especially considering the crazy insurance premiums.

Heck, I haven't driven Peej in, I dunno, couple of months now? Ok, if you're being serious here, Jar', then really think about the bike, like my Harley friend. He loved that Harley, loved driving it, really loved its acceleration. But lately the love had faded. Sure, he still enjoyed the acceleration and driving it, but that extra something had passed. Partly the buddies he would sometimes take drives with were all gone. And he would think about what he could use the money for if he sold it. An anniversary Harley is worth a LOT of money! And it wasn't that he hadn't driven for a while and hadn't wished he had--he just didn't even have any desire to drive it at all. Took it on a last drive which just cemented it was time to sell. It wasn't just a phase, he really did not want to drive the Harley at all. Take your time, Jar', and really consider your life with and without the Burg. If you decide that yes, you just don't want to drive it anymore, if there's things you can use the money selling it for, if it just doesn't do anything for your feelings at all, then yes, maybe it is time to sell. But if you still get that thrill when you drive, then might as well keep the Burg. Costs less than a car you know. >'Kat

If you don't enjoy it, or riding in general anymore, then sell it. I have no idea who your insurance carrier is, or where you hail from, but insurance premiums shouldn't be a reason to let it go. Gosh, I have 2 BMW's, a Ural, and the scooter......annual premium for all 4 is $156.00. That's only about $39 a piece.....seems pretty reasonable to me.

I haven't been quoted less than $450 a year for insurance.

Geico, Progressive, Hartford, and Rider ( in the East) tend to be the leaders in MC insurance. I have Rider with 100/300 limits and my policy was $60. However I substantially upped the uninsured and underinsured provisions, because of all the uninsured idiots out there and my premium went to $130 on the Vulcan.

I haven't been quoted less than $450 a year for insurance. Dear sweet mercy, that's almost as much as my newish car! I'll grant that your Burgy is what? three times the engine of my Peej, but that's ridonkulous! My insurance is less than $100. Unless you have medical on it? If so, and if you have health insurance, then drop the med (per my agent's advice) >'Kat

More than half the premium is the UM coverage.
