Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out my overheating issue on my 2008 Diamo Turista 300. The fan isn't coming on and my main suspicion is that the thermostat is stuck. The bike sat for a good 5 years before I got it and I'm sure there's a ton of corrosion in the cooling system. I've located the waterpump and such, but I didn't get very far before having to quit for the night. Can anybody help with the thermostat location?

Just follow you hose down to left side of engine you will find housing pull thermostat is there water pump is behind it make sure you drain system first. did you first check electric cooling fan is working?

Thanks. No, the fan isn't coming on. I checked fuses and they're good. I read another thread that stated a sticking or bad thermostat will prevent the hot coolant from reaching the temp sensor that triggers the fan coming on. Is that correct?

Then you are looking for fan thermostat you will find it by looking for a single skinny wire snapped on the a sensor in block I would take off wire take out sensor and clean it. I believe it go's to ground. I would check wire see if hot it not try ground grounding it with key on see if fan runs.

The fan runs off the 2 prong sensor on the bottom of the radiator. The single wire on the sensor on the head is for the gauge.

Thanks guys. Finally got to spend some time on it last night. I pulled the hose leading to the water pump and flushed some water through the radiator. Found inside the tube for the water pump was a very, very thick white goo the consistency of thick wax! Complete blockage. Began to remove the cover, but rounded out one of the hex head bolts. Removed the other two and ordered an easy-out tool from Amazon. Hopefully I'll be able to find a suitable replacement bolt from the hardware store or auto parts store.
Next step will be to pull that cover off and try to get all that waxy goo out and flushed. I'll test the leads to the fan and see if my cooling problem is solved. Still trying to sell this thing... Figure I'll have an easier time if it doesn't overheat.

I assume it's coagulated Chinese coolant. Very odd looking stuff if your ask me. I got the cover off after rounding one of the stupid Allen head bolts and a bunch of black looking liquid poured out of the water pump. Will have to work on it more another time. In the meantime, I found a loose connector under it that I can't find where it goes. It's part of the wiring harness cluster from around the carburetor area. Any thoughts?

the wires going to sender look at color do they look like the ones going to connection point you are looking at?
