I have had a scooter since 2007, which unfortunately hasn't run for years. I wanted a project, and man did I get one! I've already redone all of the body work and repainted and have started trying to get all of the fluids and filters replaced, adjusted the valves, etc. But I need to buy quite a few new parts due to dry rot and such from sitting for so long. When she ran, she never really was able to get up to the top speed that I expected (maybe 45 mph, tops) and always seemed to lag a little bit (part of this could have been due to living in high altitude when I bought her). She was also really hard to get started, and the kick start rarely worked. It would simply lock up and I wouldn't be able to kick the starter all the way through so I just always used the electric start. I've replaced the spark plug and plan on replacing the CDI module. I will also need to replace the brake master cylinder and bleed all of the lines. I guess my first questions would be regarding what I need to replace and your best suggestions? I haven't been able to check out the rollers yet to see if they might have anything to do with the top speed because I don't have the tool that I need yet.. I will need to replace the battery as well. What is the best battery as well as CDI that I could buy for a 150 cc GY6? I'm having an awful time trying to find out which battery to use. Also, any ideas on the best fuse to use? I used a 15 when I was trying to get her started a couple of years ago, and the starter module would click but I could never get it to turn over and the fuse would blow. The tires will also need to be replaced. Is it possible to change tire sizes on a scooter this size? It came with 3.5x10 tires, but I was going to see if it was possible to go up to an 11 or 12? Forgive my ignorance, but I'm pretty new at all of this. I'm trying to do as much research as I can to learn, but I feel like some things are just better addressed by talking to people Thank you so much in advance!

Unclear if the engine presently runs . . too much "hen cackle" and not enough clear specifics!
"Just the facts, Ma'am" . . fuel, spark, compression.

tortoise She doesn't currently run. I was trying to get her running a couple of years ago and then had to put the project on the back burner. I believe that I was sold the wrong battery when I tried to buy one the last time and I haven't found much regarding the exact battery specs. Suggestions? Getting a new battery is my number one priority, but I don't want to get the wrong one again. The fuse would blow every time (10 or 15 amp), but the starter relay would click when I tried to start it. It wouldn't start using the electric start or the kick start. The lights would come on, but that was all that I got from it. It was pulling fuel through the line, but wouldn't roll over. I've since replaced the spark plug, and will be replacing the starter relay as well since it is loose and the rubber boot that holds it has dry rotted. Any other thoughts? I've not yet checked compression, I'll be doing that soon.. I had readjusted my valves to .006 on both, but from watching the video you posted, maybe I should tighten them up a little bit. Also before it was put in storage, the throttle handle would stick or just wouldn't turn at all (almost as if it was just locked up). The throttle handle will move currently, but it's really sticky and doesn't pull smoothly. New throttle cable needed?

Unknown which scooter body style you have, or the dimensions of the battery compartment. Might research if the YTX7A-BS dimensions are compatible.
Length: 5. inches (150mm) Width: 3.40 inches (86mm) Height: 3.70 inches (94mm)
