I bought my son a 110 cc Tao tao ATV , the Bike itself runs great , this weekend he went out to ride it and the battery was dead , the kill switch was off and the key removed , when I went to charge it I noticed the headlight came on once I started the charge ( while the Key and headlights were still turned off ) what could be wrong ?

Sounds like a problem with the ignition or light switch. Does it have a headlight switch? Look for a defect in that (keeping it in the on position internally). Bad ignition switch? Same thing.
How are you with wiring?
You're going to get good if you keep a Chinese bike under the roof.
