See if any of you guys have any ideas for me:
After replacing the spark plug, coil, cdi and eventually finding out the reason I wasn't getting spark was a burned terminal in plug to cdi, (I replaced the terminal and got it running again) But a week later the scoot wasn't getting spark again...
After determining the issue was now, the stator due to not getting the right ohm/voltage readings, I replaced that today and actually started getting spark! Drove it down the road and back to the house, park it and let it idle. It started idling roughly and eventually shut off. Tried restarting, but now I'm not getting spark to spark plug AGAIN. Rechecked ohms/voltage to stator and all checks out good, but still no spark to spark plug boot.
Am I missing something?

Update: first thing I checked again with multimeter was if the kill switch was grounding out. Checked in the black/white wire terminal to CDI top left. It is grounding out now, but check out fine yesterday before I replaced the stator. Could I be getting too much current and causing components to fail?

Remove all of your switches, spray them with wd40 and work them a thousand times each. Get the run off clean. I would also check the harness for a rub spot on the frame.

John I just bypassed the kill switch by removing wire #5 from plug to CDI and still nothing. I'm thinking about stripping the harness down completely and checking every inch of wire on the bike from ignition down to stator and all the way to spark plug boot.

I would maybe replace the cdi harness.

I bought different colors of 16g wire, and manually ran all the wire from the stator, to the regulator, CDI, etc. I just bought a bunch of bullet connectors, and replaced everything. I put all the connections where I could easily get to them. I don't trust the wire, or connections in those harnesses. Especially if you run them in weather.
Also, is your battery grounded good to the engine? I have too often seen the ground from the negative to the engine go bad, which leaves the only ground to the engine the little green wire on the stator, and it burns up.

I know I replaced the whole ignition/charging system on my scoot 1 time only to find out the Magnito wasn’t strong enough to work the stator. I never guessed they get de-magnetised over time. Drove me crazy , all wires ohm'd out fine....

Well, I went out just now and took off the front panels to expose the harnesses for switches and ignition to see if anything looked off. She cranked right up....then rough idled and shut off with no more spark again.... I literally hadn't changed ANYTHING. I did see a pinched harness going to left handbrake switch. Opened the harness sleeve up to check wires but they weren't exposed to each other. Here's the big question I have: If the switches are operating correctly (ie no crank when toggled to off or no brake applied) then how can they be the cause of the CDI not getting spark? Or how could the kill switch also be giving me a grounded out beep when checking continuity? I'm beyond over this.

I know this: the kill switch wire to CDI was grounding out on me, so I went to steering column, unplugged the kill switch and it tested fine, no grounding. But then checked the other plugs white and black wire going into rest of harness and it failed. So That tells me it's grounding somewhere between the switch and CDI right? And that will prevent CDI from firing to coil correct?
Im no electrician but my theory is, somewhere between the kill switch (which is good) and the CDI plug, there is an exposed wire that if left sitting, moves away from ground enough to crank, but after being cranked, the vibration is causing it to touch ground? Sound right?
If that's the case, then why would the scoot not start when I pulled that wire out of the plug to CDI? Whats the correct way to bypass all switches. Permanently?

Ok. That's definitely the issue. I left the multimeter probe on continuity setting, seated in the #5 wire plug to CDI and began moving the harness around. Once the beeping stopped. I plugged it back in and she cranked again. So...yeah, looks like I'll be stripping the harness down and inspecting the entire thing. Joy joy found it! It was the switch after all. Removed it to look inside (even though the kill works) and bam. Now to find a replacement, get it running and run into more problems in another week or so I just wanna ride!!!

Still ordered a new multifunction switch for that side but for now, I cleaned this one up and scraped away where solder had jumped over. Now she scoots down the road. It's nuts just how many electrical issues this thing runs into...
