Rebuilding a scoot with a 47mm bore. They ran it WAY lean and the piston cracked. Problem is it is a domed piston and never seen one before on a scoot....just motorcycles. Anybody know who makes a 47mm domed piston?  |

I have a domed 39mm and 50mm piston, but the 47mm piston I have is concave.

What engine is that on? Matt Matt GY6 QMG147 100cc. Looks identical to the short case QMJ157...same size belt etc. |

I was afraid of that. What an oddball. Unfortunately I've got nothing for that one, sorry. Matt Matt..think a QMI152 125cc top end would work? Not measured but it appears to have a 57.8mm stroke like the 125-150 and I would think it would have to in order to displace 100cc with a 47mm bore. Scoot is not here so I can't measure to verify....it is 20 miles away at my mothers house. Belongs to a friend of hers. But then 125cc are impossible to find in the states also and I fear 150cc may be more power than the old guy can handle after being used to 100cc. He is 74 yo and not in the best of shape..hmm..what to do... |

From my understanding the only difference in a 125 and a 150 is the bore and that the cylinder is interchangeable.
