Sorry to hear it, bro. It's been a rough year for several of us here on the forum. Seems like someone is in a wreck every month or two. Get well soon!

Accidents are part of riding a motorcycle, it will happen to all of us eventually, I accepted that fact and do everything I can to avoid it and be prepared when it happens again, hopefully with all the gear I'm wearing now I won't get too messed up next time.

When I was about 17 , many of us use to play release at night . for those who do not know what " release " is , its a game somewhat like hide n seek for older kids , lol. You have 2 teams of however many , one team hides and if you get caught , your taken back to base . if someone from your teams makes it to base without being caught , they yell " release ! " and everyone caught runs free and hides again. Anyway , a buddy was hiding on a 20 ft roof . when someone went up to get him he climbed to the peek and grabbed a branch from the tree that was pretty much right against the house . somehow he thought he would just swing down " 20 ft " and get away . needless to say it turned out a little different . at some point he lost grip and landed on his wrist snapping both bones above his wrist . you probably could have heard him scream a mile away , lol. His arm was broken at about a 60 degree angle and the bones were nearly popping through the skin . one of the neighbors called 911 and before they put him into the ambulance the EMTs had to put his arm into an air cast. They had to pull on his wrist and put the bones in place enough so the aircast could hold it in place. Most of us had to walk away because of the screaming . to be honest he was always sort of a cry baby " not that I don't think it sucked and really hurt" but he sounded as of both of his legs were being ran through a wood chipper, lol. The point of this story is that a couple days after he got the cast off , he was jumping on a big trampoline and as he caught himself falling face first into the center of the trampoline , his wrist snapped again in the same place !! He ended up needing to have pins to hold everything in place so it would heal correctly . so just be careful and do everything you need to do to let your bones heal properly.

Yeah they're gonna install some sort of hardware in/on me most likely.
We'll see what the other doc says that I see Tues.
The docs have a few options, although when he explained it, ithe details kinda went in one ear out the other-- it was early in the morn and hadn't slept well. Plus meds.
Anyway, one option was they go into/under my wrist and screw/pin/bar stuff. Another was where I had a bar on the outer arm/wrist with I imagine pins.
I'll find out more Tues.

Sorry you got hurt. I wish you a speedy recovery. Does anyone know if that Deer Horn actually works? Thanks. I have no idea. Also my headlight assembly says it can handle 12v 25/25w bulbs rather than the 12v 18/18w 99.9% of parts sites sell. Only site I found was monsterscooterparts that had them in the style I need. So I think those will be better-- any little advantage I can get.

When i lived in new york i put the little screamer whistles on my car and my bike after a few close calls (like a deer literally jumped over me on my bike,,,scared the livin poo outta me)they were on the next day,,,they didnt eliminate the deer encounters but it sure did cut it down,,and they didnt run out into the road just stayed by the side,,,still gives you a start when you see them but at least they weren't running out in front of you

The deer whistles need to be installed correctly in order to work. There is a left and a right and they have a specific height and a limit of how close together they can be and still work. The also need to be kept clean and free of dust, spiders, etc.
I went down at 40/45 mph this past spring and had the bike slide over me rolling me underneath however the long Sedici Gloves where cinched tight so my wrists were not harmed and the carbon fiber prevented the knuckles from wearing through and the palms stayed intact. The CE3 armored jacket did not tear at all and protected my upper body 100%, boots took having the center stand and engine case go over without cutting through but I did get my knees banged up. I see that I was very fortunate to just walk away and with just a few minor scrapes on the knees though the bruising was a bit intense. Its almost December now and the left knee is almost back to normal but still slightly marked up. Counting my blessings as I read these posts about what could have also happened to me.
Get well soon and take a moment to reflect on whether better gloves or other riding gear may be required.

About the gear, do you, or anyone else know of a good website for that kind of stuff-- with reasonable prices, quality..etc? It's something I've been thinking about. I'll do some looking around myself and check reviews on stuff so I don't buy something that will fall apart in a month, but still feels good.

For gloves the Sedeci from Cycle Gear can be had at reasonable prices and most Sedici Gear carries a lifetime warranty. The perforated leather Sedici Torino Gloves held up well when I crashed and I believe they were on sale for $29.99 when I bought mine. www.cyclegear.com/SEDICI-Torino-LeatherMesh-Motorcycle-GlovesCycle Gears Bilt line of gear carries a 5 year warranty. Leather Up also sells gear at reasonable prices although their gloves in the same price range as Cycle Gears did not hold up as well for me wearing out and falling apart in less than a year and their warranty is only days on their Xelement brand. I ride almost every day in the harsh Florida Sun so my gear does take a beating.

If I don't buy online, the longest I'd have to drive is probably only 25-30 miles, so it's not that inconvenient. I'll be up in that area this weekend most likely, so I'll check around.
