looks like a good idea to me as well. Especially when carrying extra weight at the rear. Some weight added to the front to help distribute load makes sense and would help mitigate head shake/steering issues that can happen when too much weight is at the rear of the bike making it too light at the front.
They do present more frontal area increasing wind drag I believe, so fuel economy and top speed would drop some. A friend had saddle bags on his 125 Honda PCX; removing the bags allowed the bike to regain 6 mph.. For a small bike like that it is a significant amount.

ya know, putting the weight forward and low like that is the best place to put weight, so good idea, even though aerodymics might suffer, if it went fast enough. btw, it's 'got an idea in my head', not, 'got an ideal in my head' ?
