Have a pilot jet super plugged on one of my scoots, Lance Phoenix. Tried to clean it all the usual ways. When I look down the center all I see is brass. I would like to try to run a wire through it.
It looks like the hole is totally blocked. The scooter would not start, and I eliminated other fuel flow possibilities.
It had been sitting for a few years.
Thanks!!

If it's been sitting for a few years, it would probably be best to replace the carb and fuel lines, total cost less than $50.

Just try some wires out. I stripped apart a network cable and used the copper wire from it. If the hole is completely clogged you should try using carb cleaner and trying to push through with a wire between every spray or so. It may take a long time. I cleaned out a carb that had been sitting for a few years and the gas was crystalized and hard to remove but after about an hour of spraying and trying to push through it finally did and I cleaned the rest of it out the usual ways.

Thanks guys! I'll try .022 safety wire, and the wire from a bag tie. See which one works, just want to hog out the hole accidentally.

Just be persistent and do not use a metal with a higher or equivalent density to the brass.

Well, tried unclogging with bag tie, boiling with lemon juice for thirty minutes, jamming air through it, no luck
So, I've invested more time than the 6 bucks the new one costs to order. My original is a 32, 25mm long. The replacement (at every site I went to), is 28mm long. I read somewhere there may be an advantage at starting with the longer pilot jet.
I'll measure and make sure I have enough room.
Thanks for the input!!

If that jet was plugged, there's a very good chance other ports may be as well. That's why I recommend replacement of the carb after sitting with fuel in it for so long.
