Hey everyone. First time post.. Lot's of great info here. I have this scooter, got it for $50, with seized engine (apparently not so much), anyway, it has a CDI mounted in the rear of the bike, typical large with two plugs. It also has a quite small one mounted just forward of the engine with a 4 pin plug. My questions are: What is this smaller one for (I think it goes to the gauges up front). Where can I locate another male plug with connectors (the original was chewed up by rats or a dog). Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

That front thing might be your voltage regulator. Are the wires coming straight from the engine stator?
If the wires are coming straight out of the fan cover to that, it is the voltage regulator. The rear one is the CDI. The one up front is not.
The first thing you need to do is find out for sure if it is the voltage regulator. Can you post what color wires are coming out of it? Does it just have 4 blade connectors coming out of it? If so, you can buy female blade connectors at Autozone, and connect the wires back up.

Hey Steve, It has a female connector with the four blades. Tried autozone, they did not have them, but I found a thread here that had a supplier so I ordered a new male end with connectors. A couple bucks. The wires connected to it, are tan, and three yellow, spliced into the main harness.

Sure does. Learn something new every day.
It looks like the female blade connectors will fit on there. You can buy some, look at the old wire connector, and hook them up in the proper place.
I was saying to buy the individual female blade connectors, and connect the individual wires separately. But, sounds like you found a new harness. Good luck!
