I just wanted to recount my experience with asking some questions (via e-mail) of a few online scooter stores. As background, my wife and I rented a Scoot Coupe (three wheeled, 150cc scooter with 2 wheels in the front - you sit side-by-side!) locally in April for her birthday - and have done so 4 times since then. They are a lot of fun, but $$$ if you want to buy one - about $7,000!
Nonetheless, this experience led us to consider purchasing a scooter-type vehicle for ourselves. Until my daughter caused $2500 of damage to her PT Cruiser recently, I had a "fun budget" that would have supported the purchase of an Ice Bear PST150C trike. Although I have had my motorcycle license for about 30 years, my wife feels safer on 3 wheels, so a scooter/trike was what we decided to research.
I e-mailed Rapid Repair (Jim), Extreme Motor Sales (a B&M in Orlando), Valley Scooters (John Dikov), and Extreme Scooters (Dave Bergman) - only Jim @ Rapid Repair e-mailed me back. To be fair, Dave Bergman DID e-mail me back once - my first e-mail explained that I had been considering a Scoot Coupe or a Kandi Viper, and then asked specifically about a PST150C on his website for $2599 - assembled, PDI completed, shipping included. He returned my e-mail with a picture of the last Kandi Viper he sold. I replied asking about the availablility of the scoot on his website - no further response.
My e-mail to John Dikov of Valley Scooters asked about a PST150H he had advertised on his website- Ice Bear has no PST150H in their product catalog, so I asked about that model on his website - I received no reply. I e-mailed Extreme Motor Sales to ask if they had/sold scooter/trikes - no response from them, either.
So, kudos to Jim @ Rapid Repair! He took the time to answer his e-mails and my questions. When my budget recovers, and if I order via the Internet, it will certainly be from Jim @ Rapid Repair!
Thanks Jim! :-)

Apparently a lot of scooter dealers stink at customer service. I had a question I needed an answer to, and a lady gave me the email addresses of four dealers/mechanics to write to. Of the four emails I sent, not ONE answered back. Not even an "I have no idea."

It does constantly amaze me - why bother including your e-mail address on a website if you are not going to bother answering?
There was a Craigslist ad recently advertising a 150cc "Doxi trike" (whatever that may/might have been) - I responded by e-mail asking how it ran, and how many miles were on it. The ad stated "looks new!" Well, we all know that "looks new" and "runs new" are 2 very different things. Seller replied "the ad says looks new - read the ad". I replied nicely, asking again if it ran well, and how many miles - no further response.
There is also a "new Ice Bear/Baccio dealer" that just started up in Stuart, FL - ran a Craigslist ad. I replied 3 times (to the link in his ad!) requesting info on the Ice Bear PST150C - no answer. I even texted the phone number listed in the ad, inquiring about his store hours, and indicating I'd like to come by - nothing!
Sheesh!

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my customer service!
I pride myself in helping anyone who emails or calls with questions. I am "old school" and was brought up in the days where service means more than the sale itself. My first job was in a gas station pumping gas, 25 cents a gallon, the owner didn't care if he customer filled his take or bought one gallon of gas, I was required to clean all windows, check the oil and air in the tires, today at $2.74 a gallon you are lucky to get a thank you when you pay. I guess this has stuck with ,me all these years.
Again Thank You
