So I have just started riding with a little family scooter club in Phoenix. They call themselves "The Go Arounds". Went on my first ride with them yesterday 08/23/15, was going to ride to the top of South Mountain Park, however when we got to the park it was silent Sunday, so no motor vehicles could go up the mountain. However was still a fun ride of almost 50 miles round trip for me, and a little longer for them, they picked me up part way thru the ride since it was going almost past my house anyways. They normally start at 7:00 am at 35th Ave and Union Hills, and will be making different trips. If there are any other riders in the Phoenix area, that would be interested in joining the ride, they will post on reddit under r/scooters.
We had a total of five scooters on the ride, my 150cc Jonway, one 80cc Honda, one 125cc Honda, one 180cc Honda, and one 500cc Aprilia. Just going for a leisurely drive, most of the road we were on the speed limit was 35 mph, max was 40 mph, no freeways.

Sounds like a gas. Be careful in the turns on the Summit Road at South Mountain. Seems like there is a layer of dry sand in every switchback turn, where rain water has crossed the road. I didn't have a scooter when I lived in the PHX area, but I rode my bicycle up to the antennas a few times. The Summit Road is much more fun on Silent Sunday. Dang, I miss living in AZ.
