Snickers and swats, "I'm being practical, with a limited budget, you do need to consider the future repairability. With anything GY6 based, you're pretty safe even if the importer and/or manufacturer goes under, but on something like this, you're taking a bit of risk, and need to ask if you can afford it." It just for fun and the point is well taken, and would need to be addressed before any purchase is made. If SYM sells one within her budget I would highly recommend it. Apology unnecessary, and while the Sym will be in her budget relatively speaking (cheaper than the Honda she was planning on), it will definitely be more than this, i'd guess roughly twice the price without looking it up. An another note, Aliexpress shows a Daehan made Wave clone too... Me wants.

I'm thinking that because it's an established manufacturer in Korea the quality is probably superior to the Chinese product, also the fact they are listed as having started in 1962 tells me it's bound to be of good quality, we just haven't heard of them yet (see Mahindra article) Because they are gaining a foothold here may bode well for the future, remember when the Japanese motorcycle brand names sounded....well odd :-

Thanks for all the info, guys! Sorry for the delay in response, summer break is coming to an end, nursing school starts back in like... 4 days (must. make. it. to. graduation.), and work has been hectic!
I am still dreaming and drooling for my PCX 150, I've scoured bikes since the beginning of the year before my car ever even died, and that PCX left me day-dreaming about it. I'm still saving, and praying my job holds out until I have the full amount saved up--I have not-so-good credit, so I've been averaging a savings from my paychecks for months, and I'm about 5 weeks out from having the money to buy it in full. Then, my job can have their way, and I'll move on to new employment, but at least my scoot will be paid in full!
Anyways, the Daehan is still my backup. It does seem like a nice little scoot, and the guy at the bike shop had good things to say about it. He concurred what you all said, it's foreign, and still making its way into the US market, but that it has a good reputation for reliability for the price range.
