I got a Yamaha for reliability but my CF Moto never stranded me.
It has been raining on the scooter a lot, so I suspect moisture might be the culprit but I'm pretty clueless.

I'm assuming you've checked your battery voltage. Did you try crossing the terminals on the starter solenoid with a screwdriver?

I hooked up a charger & it draws almost nothing & the lights & panel light up brightly.
I remember doing that solenoid trick on an old car & truck.
I'll try to locate the solenoid.
This has fuel injection & some kind of CDI module, does it still have a solenoid?

As far as I know, pretty much every car, motorcycle, and scooter, with electric start, has a solenoid, usually round, with two terminals sticking out of the top, wired to the starter. If you have a multimeter, check the battery voltage. I think it should show about 13 or more volts when fully charged. Mine reads 12.8 and it still starts.

Thank you. I hooked up a charger but the battery would not draw any volts at all.
I'm gonna also remove the cables & clean them.

Cables or one of the other terminations is loose,,,or could be a bad solenoid,,,or starter,,,start checking the terminations

I cleaned and tightened the cables with no effect. Here are pics of the battery & engine: ykids.comI found the starter motor but can't really see anyplace to stick a screwdriver. I searched the Morphous service manual & there is no mention of a solenoid. |

I searched the Morphous service manual & there is no mention of a solenoid. On my cfmoto helix clone, the solenoid is right in front of the battery box. I don't know where it is on the Morphous. It may be listed as a starter relay instead of solenoid. Solenoids/relays are often located attached to the frame under the seat. The one on the morphous might look like this: thumbs3.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/m2PUNDPQCgiiRSmN3Ox-H_g.jpgTry to start it and listen for where the click is coming from. That will be the relay. When you find the relay, turn on the key and connect those two big terminals with the nuts on them together with a screwdriver, a big wire, or whatever and, if it cranks, your solenoid is bad. Somtimes you can tap on the solenoid and make it work again, but it will usually just fail again very soon. Some relays on ebay are less than $10. |

I'll go see if I can find it. Thanks.
I found the fuse box & figured out how to get it open & checked the ignition fuse but it is fine.
I used a loan shark to buy this scooter so I would have a reliable means of getting to work.
I don't know how long I can miss work without being replaced?

The clicking seemed to be coming from under the battery.
I removed the battery. I removed the bolts holding the battery box but it won't budge.

Aha. This feels like progress! Thank you for that. I'm looking at the location but it seems to look different? The fuse box blocks the view of it in this pic  In this "rear" view, you can see the bundle of wires going into whatever is in that position.  Beyond removing panels, It looks like I'm going to have to remove the front end to access that area. I took one bolt out with a flashlight but I had better wait for daylight or I'm gonna lose stuff or mess something up. tvnacman, the battery is reading 12.64 volts |

I would check for power at the starter while holding the start switch. If the starter has a dead spot or a poor engine ground. that would explain the click and no starter cranking.
