Hey guys, I bought a 05 reflex that was sitting for a while and it didn't start. I found that the fuel pump was dead so I replaced it and the scooter started but now when I accelerate it dies or justfalls flat,if I accelerate slowly it will get up to 6000rpms, also once over 3500 or so rpms it acts fine, has full power.Took apart the carburetor and cleaned it, everything looked good, didn't help. Oh also changed fuel filter.Any suggestions?

I would think the carb jets are still dirty,,and I would check the carb diaphragm for holes or cracks,,,,,,after all it is 10 years old

That's what I was thinking too. Unless the previous owner screwed with the pilot screw or if there is extra air leaking into the intake from cracking in the rubber from the carb to engine intake or a loose fit of that piece. Spraying WD-40 around that and having the idle speed increase momentarily would confirm an air leak.

Thanks for the heads up on checking with WD-40 around the intake, i found the pipe going from carb to air filter was very lose, got it back in place and now the engine revs much better, it still seems to shake a little too much at idle, and there is a slight hesitation around 2k rpms, but ive been riding a 50cc 2stroke for a while so I don't know how much of that is supposed to happen?
I replaced the spark plug too, it's all i could think of as far as maintenance, is there something I'm overlooking that could cause the scooter to hesitate and idle a little rough?
