So I went riding in the rain yesterday. I kept stalling out because my filter became so full of water it was dripping. Also, when I say rain I mean the pouring rain that's hard to drive anything in, this is Boston of course.
I would stop, squeeze the water out of the filter then start back up fine, but then closer to the end of the trip (I stalled out a few times) I started hearing poping noises like as if I was running super rich then it stalled out even if I was revving... Now today a dry nice day it is popping and acting like it is going to stall. I do not like the feeling of wondering if I can make it to where I need to go or not so I am going to take the plug out and inspect it.
I am wondering, is it possible to foul a plug by running in the rain with a uni filter? I must try to clarify that the filter was dripping, soaking, fully absorbed water, was not passing air and was most likely causing the engine to suck in water when trying to pull air....

That's why I don't ride in the rain . my uni slightly sticks out the side and can suck in rain . u need to build some kind of shield to keep the rain from reaching it. Water in the engine is never good . whatever water possibly passed the filter either burned up in the head or soaked the carb and possibly entered the float bowl . not to sure how easy it would be for water to reach the bowl but , if it were me , I'd drain the bowl and go from there.
