Hey there I'm new to the forum ☺. I've got a 2013 renegade from peace sports tpgs - 805 I'm having issues with. We have recently replaced the carb, stator, rectifier, spark plug, fly wheel, coil, cdi and drive belt. Before replacing all these parts it started having issues with its idle if I wasn't holding the throttle open it would start to idle low and shut off and would not start by the button or by kick. After replacing the parts it still won't start by either method. Its getting spark and fuel. Turns over great just won't start.
I know this is probably the wrong area for posting this but as I said I'm a noob. Someone please help!!!

adjust valves and if that doesn't solve your problem check compression.

It ran fine for a few weeks. After that the problems started.

Even so it ran fine before? My ole man says it ran before the valves shouldn't need adjustment.

I agree with ramblinman, if you are 100% sure all fixes were installed properly a valve adjustment is required.

We are going to pull out the multimeter and check all the wires to the cdi. Will definitely keep updating our findings. It is has compression just don't have a tester to know how much compression.

Even so it ran fine before? My ole man says it ran before the valves shouldn't need adjustment. it takes 30 minutes and is the likely problem from your symptoms. valves will get tight over time, especially on a newer scoot. when they become too tight it effects performance, top speed is lost, hard starts and stalls at low rpm.

So even after all the work and new battery we tried the old cdi to see if it was still usable, when we put the new cdi back it has trouble starting again... And developed a new symptom of the headlight being dim until then throttle is held open. Any idea what could have happened when we swapped the cdis only long enough to test the old one. Any ideas on the light?
