I could only pick both, choosing just one would seem to diminish the other and these guys are both too legit.

geh, you do mean your sister, right?
As for our choices, I'm with fly'. Not going to choose. One's marksmanship was the reason a few men captured a German unit. The other was awarded more medals than any other American ever. Both stayed humble. I honestly think there's not an ounce more macho in one over the other. The macho scale is even.

rim shot, kev'.
Look at those pics again. Audie has lots more metal on his front. So that might weigh the scale back to even, despite the whisker.

And you know, you deserve a bone for giving us this sometimes-funny, sometimes-thought-provoking thread (almost) every Monday. woof.

Whew, it's impossible for this old Army guy to pick either one this time!
Both these heroes are as good as Americans get. Two different world wars, same guts and patriotism. These are the kind of guys who made America great. Not many like 'em left today, but there ARE a few. We NEED this caliber of American in Washington, AND SOON.
Both of these fellows knew America is a sovereign nation, the LEADER of the free world; NOT a watered-down toady of a loose-morals, do whatever feels good, "global economy" and there is NO such thing as a "hyphenated-American". The only colors they recognized besides Army Green, was Red, White and Blue. Yup... BOTH of these fellows get my vote!

I'll go with Audie Murphy, only because my aunt says we are distantly related to him.
