I keep having an issue, once a year so not so annoying, but I have busted my second horn and the first and second both have the same issue. It acts as if the part that controls tone has either corroded or shorted somehow. You know how if you hook up a power source directly to a speaker the speaker pops out? Well that's how both my horns are acting now. No tone no matter how much you adjust the tone screw, just the speaker popping up when pressing the horn button.
Has anyone ever taken one of these things apart?

I took one of my horns apart, found corrosion all over the inside. Why can't they make these horns in a way that doesn't invite rain water inside of it? lol

You may be able to make some kind of cover or shroud to keep the water out .

You may be able to make some kind of cover or shroud to keep the water out . I think I may just wrap my next one with a plastic sandwich baggie lol. Close it off with a rubber band on the inside around the wires and around the outside of the baggie where the band is under the bag. Problem solved.... once I get around to getting a horn lol. I spent all my money on variator weights and a new belt. |
