Great question , the rpms can tell a lot about what you may need to do . tuning the CVT is very important . if hills are no problem , your rpms may be too high . if the weights in the variator are too light you will not get good climb out of the variator and belt. All you will have is a scoot that gets up to speed quick but tops out at a low speed. What gears and weights is your friend using , and does he have the same variator ?

yes, great question. 5gram seems too light for 165lb rider. if you don't have a rpm gauge then i would install one. if everything else is working well on your scoot then i would suspect heavier weights will give you more performance.

It sounds as if you need heavier weights . Its a tunning process . sometimes lighter weights will give you better top end and sometimes heavier weights will give you better top end . too light or too heavy will kill top end

you get the most out of these engines with rpm's near 7,500. maybe someone with your weight will chime in with their roller weight size but in the meantime get a tachometer.

tnk you guys i just found out the variator i just ordered came with 4 gram sliders in the add it said 5 gram rollers so now i belive after reading everything you guys has told me it looks like i maybe placeing another order for sliders and a tech... it cost so much for sliders but if i want a scooter at top speed ill fork the cash out....i do belive 4 gram sliders is going to kill my rpm i was asking today about that the question was ( if the rollers are way to light will my rpms go up and blow my motor ) ? like you one of you said get a tech and thats on my list to do. so 7500 rpm is a goot spot for my scooter with the mods i got going ? also i got 17/49 gears what gear should i go with to help top end speed ? thank you all
GEH3333 this is for you.......i seen the mods you did to yours i also have a jonway salona delux can i do the same mods you did to yours and do mine the same way and do i need to change the crank im running stock.....also if you think you could hook me up with web address to all the parts that would be great or you can text them to me if you like 540-200-9322

Wow 4g weights are RIDICULOUSLY light for you and that scoot! Try like 6.5-7g at least. I would weigh them. Maybe check your spark plug too. # seems lean for an 80cc(aka 100) with a free flow filter AND pipe. I could be wrong though so don't hold me to it, since your carb is much bigger than mine-- IDK..

Most of my parts came from eBay , from seller " gy6racingteam " . they have very good quality parts for very good prices. The exhaust was a cheaper eBay exhaust , I'm not sure what seller I bought it from ,but I had to do a little modifying on the header pipe to get it to fit right. As for the main engine components "gy6racingteam " is great and fast free shipping. If you have any questions just let me know . I can text you if its easier.

okguys i took some advice from you guys and got me a tach from northern hardwear $89.00 bucks kinda high but works good, anyways i put a new variator with 4 gram rollers kinda light....on stright road rpms range 8310 and up hill 6310.... i got 6 1/2 rollers on order thought i would try to meet in the middle of things and i also have 5 gram rollers on the way also....so far pulling is awsome and the speed toping out about 45mph still kinda slow for 100cc kit. i also have 1k torqe spring and 1k cluch springs on the way hopeing this will change alot.... so guys any idea what i could do now with what ive done so far? i really like to thank you guys for helping me out with this thing.....one more thing be for i go...changing the cluch springs and torqe spring what will this do to my scoospeed ECT ? ? ? I also found a nos kit pretty cool thing for looks and a turbo kit thinking about buying these toys for bragging rights lol plus ill be the only one around my town with NOS and TURBO on a scooter.....ok guys hit me with what you know and thank you so much.....
