Scamping Report Spring 2015 Mar 26 -29
This is a tough report to write simple because there was no great failures to over come, no poetic moment to share, just simply a ride for a rides sake.
4 days 3 nights approx. 840 mile of the southwest.
Shouldn't call it scamping no nights in tent.
Only problem was before leaving.
The orginal ideal was to move the axle forward about 4" for better
balance of the trailer. But no, not me, I ended up extenting the trailer
about 12" and raising the height about 10".
Total fail, it fishtail so badly it was unuseable.
Solution: no trailer this trip, so no tenting.
Pointed my scooter south planning to stop before entering Mexico
Found this in CAL-NEV-ARI
The perfect home, the garage is twice the size as the house
Continue South on
then East on 163
south on Needles Hwy
thru Needles
Never get old
Small town life "Vidal, California"
I try to find a photo that best shows the town of Blythe. HAY!!!
Spend the night in Blythe. The next morning after a hour of
cruise the farmlands. Headed North too Vidal Junction
then west to AZ
South
Maybe this is not a scooter road
Do you think if I made this my scooter trailer.
I will finally get some respect?
Spent the night in Yuma. Next Morning continue south
round about thru the farmlands
I got to were the cars line up to start to cross the border,
but decide not to go to gate for a picture then turn
around. Afraid it might get me some unwanted attention.
Turn back North
Beauty Big and Small
Spent the night in Parker AZ
Early start in the morning thru Lake Havasu City
Still dark, missing some great river parks.
Sorry, this picture can't show the bueaty of this sunrise
as I came out of Lake Havasu City heading north
toward I-40
It still my dream to start Route 66 in Chicago and
travel it as much as possible.
Traveling this section with no other travelers. Nice
Oakman Nice
Cont. on Route 66
Look at the white color rock this was all that was left
of the orginal building rebuild to the same, by one man.
There are 100's of indivilauls and different clubs trying
to restore or prevent destuction of many of Route 66 landmarks.
Nice to see some of there effort.
Smooth ride home.
Here is my next problem. I have traveled several 100 miles
surround my home in Las Vegas over the last few year.
But it always has been a round trip limiting my distance of travel.
I am now trying to get my wife to let me fly to a chosen distination buy a
scooter there, then ride it home, allowing me to cover some new territorty.
Wish me luck I'll need it to pull it off.
Regardless. Riders get out and ride on.
