I have a 97 Honda elite ch80, it has around 2300 original miles on it. It did this before I replaced the rear tire also. The front tire is the original tube tire and looks to have over half tread left. For the past few months I have had an issue with wobbling in the front end. Its not apparent when accelerating but when I let off the throttle and hands off the handle grips then it starts to wobble. I've noticed it is worse when I either have an extra rider or am carrying groceries in my crate on the back.
What would cause this? I have checked the wheel bearing it's quiet and I have checked for play in the front end and I have no slop in the handlebars back and forth. When I apply the front brakes the front end does drop down some, but the dealer said that's normal.

To summarize this thread, I went through many steps to try to figure it out. Inspected the bearings, tripletree, nuts and bolts, speedo and spacers, axle and caliper, all to finally change out the fork oil and got like new performance out of them with the wobbling gone. It is not very hard, but can be time consuming getting things exactly matched up. I got the fluids matched up as much as I could, took 1.5 hours to take the forks off, drain them, clean them, dry them, and replace the oils.

I just checked the pressure in my front tire and it was at 42 so hopefully I took care of it by letting some air out. This scoot only has 2300 miles on it I wouldn't think that any bearings were bad, the first owner barely rode it they were an old couple they had the maintenance up to date at the dealer. When they died I got it from the estate sale
