Hello, I'm having troubles at takeoff, I can feel a vibration and it's taking longer to gain speed, feels like the CVT is having a hard time engaging the clutch or the belt. I checked both (clutch and belt) yesterday, everything looks fine, the clutch doesn't look worn out, the belt looks a bit shiny on the sides, I guess that's normal; it has about 3000 km on it, the clutch has about 7000 km.

i'd pull the variator and inspect the rollers.

i'd pull the variator and inspect the rollers. Rollers look ok, dirty but not worn hmm, for whatever reason it seems the the rear pulley is having a difficult time opening. i would have suspected the rollers but since you said you checked them then my only thought is the clutch sheave (pulley, not sure proper name, sry). unless someone else has better advice, you'll have to take the clutch assembly apart to inspect.

i'd pull the variator and inspect the rollers. You where right, after today's commute I checked the rollers again, one was a bit flat, it wasn't so evident the first time I checked it.

i've had rollers wore down so bad you'd thought they were sliders, lol. sure they rattled a little but still performed. those rollers don't look bad to me. did you replace them with new and it solved the problem?

I agree , those rollers look pretty good . ramblin is right usually bad rollers only make noise and may not push the belt up high enough . but vibrations ? Were all the rollers the same weight?

They are all the same, they worked fine for several months, I replaced the variator a while back and they came with it. I had a set of sliders that I removed before because they got out of place, I put them back on along with a spare variator back piece that I had, it is not vibrating anymore, I'll check in today's commute if the sliders stay in place.

That's the problem with sliders . I've never had any luck with keeping them in place . I like the performance of the sliders when they are in place.

Night and day difference, take off is a lot more responsive with sliders, just a bit of gas and off you are, with rollers I had to almost fully open the throttle to start moving.

No problems so far, the sliders are working great, I guess the problem was the back piece of the variator, probably a factory defect.

I have some Dr pully sliders that work great and have never become stuck in any weird positions or would turn and be sitting wrong. Maybe because the 150cc variators have that big nipple thing at the end and the 50cc variators don't?

Maybe because the 150cc variators have that big nipple thing at the end and the 50cc variators don't? It might have something to do with all of these different variators . it seems like the DLH and KOSO variators are being produced by the same people of at least made from the same model . they both use the exact same back plate , even the print on the back plate is the same , with the checkered flag and type of print. Many Koso's have gouges ,nicks , scratches all over the variator face . this makes me wonder if most are fake . on the koso web site I could not even find the model that is being sold by everyone. And the quality on the website looks much better. I highly doubt koso is going to completely skip or not have a QC check . I'm starting to think that its better to buy products such as CVT and engine parts from PR . scoot racing is very big down there and they would never use one of these Koso's that are being sold up here in the US. The scoot shops down there have a reputation to hold up and I noticed the place I always order from doesn't even sale those koso variators. They have some that appear to be of much better quality between $40-$60 , and up .
