Wow. So the little dumb-butt manages to not get his head torn up after his obviously unfastened (or else too-big helmet) comes off.
God *does* look after the idiots, sometimes. Dunno why though.

It doesn't always go well. That was a super close call. Here is a video of close calls. At the 10 minute mark a rider passes a car, the driver opens the door and boom. In another scene a guy lays down in the road as a bus rolls over him at high speed. So much insanity. Not for the faint of heart.

He may be wishing he had died once rehab starts if the truck tire went over his fingers or that tailbone injury is bad enough.

These things are dangerous enough without pushing the limits. What are these people thinking and/or on? "I got a BBK!: Hence I will kill myself and put others in danger!"

Back in November I was hit by a large Buick SUV going about 35 mph but was able to ride it out without physical injuries just some damage to the exhaust on the bike. Thanks for asking. Doing better than this poor rider whose hip injury from a motorcycle accident was documented in the New England Journal of Medicine a few weeks back in February (this one gives me the Willy's): Femoral-Head Dislocation to the ScrotumNote that this is a Medical Journal and some guys may not be able to ride after seeing this. Ouch!

Wow. Talk about getting your shorts in a bunch. I'm glad to hear you're okay. The factory exhaust on the Aprilia is built like a tank and really took the hit very well. The plastic heat shield got scuffed up and could be sanded down and repainted however the driver offered to pay for the $50 replacement so I took him up on it. I still have the damaged heat shield and will probably sand it down and paint it to have as a spare. The Journal of Medicine article on that broken hip has been a bit unsettling since it shows what could have been if I wasn't able to ride things out and seeing where the ball of the femur ended up is a haunting vision that keeps coming back since I seem to be getting constant reminders where I work since we have 60" and 72" televisions covering all the news outlets hanging on the walls where I work and several times a day there is some kind of report about hip injuries, advancements in replacement tech, motorcycle accidents, etc, etc.

We're at the mercy of idiots out there. I saw some news this weekend about a hit and run that killed a rider. Seems the car pulled out in front of him. A simple little thing, pulling out onto a road, turned into a tragic death because someone couldn't wait a second.

Agree, some people turn into psychos when they are behind the wheel, they think a few seconds of their life is worth more the anyone else's right to be alive. I bought a helmet camera to record every time I'm out on the road, that way if I get in an accident because a moron was in a rush, I have proof to hand to the authorities, and if I get killed, the police will have proof to get the a-hole behind bars where he/she belongs.

People do dumb stuff. Someone pulled out into my lane the other day. I swerved around them but traffic was very, very, light, like three cars on the road, so it's not like they had to hurry. They were already stopped at the stop sign and waiting to go, so unless they were psychos, they didn't see me and I was no more than 50 feet away with lights on in the morning. What kind of fool am I for riding a bike with people like that sharing the road? Once again, on lane splitting, I would argue that we do NOT want to be lane splitting with these kind of people out there. Just sharing the road with them on our bikes is proof that we're all crazy anyway. That helmet cam is a good idea. How much do they cost, how long do they run on a charge and how long do they record before running out of memory? And where do you mount it?
