Agree, some people turn into psychos when they are behind the wheel, they think a few seconds of their life is worth more the anyone else's right to be alive. I bought a helmet camera to record every time I'm out on the road, that way if I get in an accident because a moron was in a rush, I have proof to hand to the authorities, and if I get killed, the police will have proof to get the a-hole behind bars where he/she belongs. People do dumb stuff. Someone pulled out into my lane the other day. I swerved around them but traffic was very, very, light, like three cars on the road, so it's not like they had to hurry. They were already stopped at the stop sign and waiting to go, so unless they were psychos, they didn't see me and I was no more than 50 feet away with lights on in the morning. What kind of fool am I for riding a bike with people like that sharing the road? Once again, on lane splitting, I would argue that we do NOT want to be lane splitting with these kind of people out there. Just sharing the road with them on our bikes is proof that we're all crazy anyway. That helmet cam is a good idea. How much do they cost, how long do they run on a charge and how long do they record before running out of memory? And where do you mount it? A good quality camera is on $100+ territory, it can be mounted on the helmet or handle bar, I prefer the helmet because it follows your sight, you know that wherever you look at it is recording. Amazon has lots of options, just look for "helmet camera", they can record up to two hours in HD before the battery dies.
