Hi all, I find a lot of helpful info on here in regards to the 150cc air cooled scooter. About the only thing I never see when looking at the electronics sections of the help boards is, what amp fuse is normally used in a 150cc? does anyone know, is it a 7 amp, a 10 amp or will either one work okay? I'd appreciate any help to get this straight.

Using a larger fuse will work, however, when there's a short, you may actually blow the wires, or electronics, rather than the fuse. Also, if the battery is 7A, a fuse of 10A will do nothing but glow a bit.
I believe on my 50cc they use a 2-2,5A fuse..

Mine came new with 10 amp. Never a problem. Just lately, the bike has developed a short,... still working on that. But those 10 amp fuses are saving my electrical system nicely. IMHO,...stay with 10 amps or lower.

Also, if the battery is 7A, a fuse of 10A will do nothing but glow a bit. I believe on my 50cc they use a 2-2,5A fuse.. A 7amp rated battery will put out way more than 7amps in a short burst. It will do a lot more than make a 10amp fuse "glow". The 7amp rating means the battery will maintain a 7amp load for a set period of time, 1 hour. A 10 or 15 amp fuse is fine on a 150 scooter.

My 50cc came with a 15a tube type fuse. I replaced it with a blade type in a marine type holder. My 300 had a 20a I also replaced it.
