i have 15,000km on my stock tires. both front and rear still have some tread but i noticed the front had a slight bulge. i was planning on buying new tires soon and it looks like now is probably a good time. on my old scoot i had the SL 26 Pirelli's. was great for performance but the life of the tire(s) was very short. i'm considering Michelin City grip... they do not have the exact size so i'm a bit lost on which to order.
both front and rear are 130/60-13 on my jonway. i found a 130/70-13 for the rear and 110/70-13 for the front. they don't seem to carry the same size for both. would those fit and is it OK to use different size front and rear? i'm wondering if handling will be a problem?

The second number is a percentage of the first number, so the 70s are going to be a bit taller. If you have extra room under your fenders (or adjustable fenders, some scooters are adjustable), they will work. The important clearance to check is when you put all your weight on the front forks, you need to be sure you still have extra space for the larger tires with weight on them.

If you size the front wheel too much larger then you can get a wobbly caster effect just like on a shopping cart which can rear its ugly head at the most inopportune time like when trying to make an emergency stop or avoiding someone making a dangerous lane change.
On your bike the tires should be matched in width and aspect ratio. Shop around they are out there.

thanks everyone, after further review i think i'm going to go with the continental zippy-1. unfortunately they only have 1 in stock. checked some other sites, seems everyone is out of stock so hopefully my tires hold up while i wait. i will be keeping a close eye on the front where i saw a small bubble forming.
i'd order just one but they only give free shipping on orders over $89. does anyone know a reputable dealer that has 2 for reasonable price?

Hi everyone I just bought a 2014 Jonway Solana 50cc and cannot figure out what size tires it came with I looked at the tire and it does not say what size like on a car or truck tire if anyone can tell me a way I am missing maybe show a pic I would appreciate it Thanks It depends upon the tire and manufacturer, there are two standard ways to list a tire size: 120/70-12 tire width / aspect ration - rim diameter 3.5-10 tire width (100% aspect ratio) - rim diameter If you have the three number system (may have letters mixed in, see below), the first number is the tire width in mm, the second number is a percentage of the width for the wall height (70%120mm width = 84mm wall height), the third number is of course the rim diameter. If you have the two number system, the first number is both the width and the wall height in inches, the second number is of course the rim diameter. If you'll post a close up pic of your tires, we can tell you the size.
