Some day I might get frisky and decide to modify a Helix style bike. What do you guys think of this new front and rear look? Old front end: New front end: New front end plus rounded back end and fenders: I think the front end would be easy, because it's empty forward of the radiator, but doing the rear would require way too much work. I think it looks nice though.

I like the new look. The new front looks more modest. The old just hangs out a little too much.
You should have created a poll like they have for the Monday things.

I would prefer the boxy back in. It looks more retro. But the front definatly needed a "nose job".

I like the rear kept stock, but the more blount nose looks good. You could make it a nice naked scoot as well.

It looks a LOT better modded! It would be a GREAT candidate for a "Blastolene Bros." tank-style, but that would cost THOUSANDS and be a real job to perform. Would be cool though!I do love art-deco... LOL!Leo in Texas

Spandi,
They ARE indeed BEAUTIFUL! They're handmade, one-off and top-quality. The bodies go over existing scooters after removing all the plastics, seat, etc. Trouble is, they cost something like $8,000... Probably have ten-grand in workmanship though...
I love the "whole body" concept with doors. I first saw this on the "Storage Wars" show. Lovable old "Barry" was riding it. Barry has driven a whole bunch of the Blastolene rides including the "Decoliner" bus. I suppose any guy or gal with good bodywork skills could fab one up from an aircraft belly-tank, large truck fender pair, or like Randy Grubb's contrivance here, called the "Decopod" from sheet aluminum or stainless.
Very cool for those with plenty of "discretionary income" to spend on a 150 scooter! No reason the design couldn't be put on a 250 or larger though.
Ride safe, ride cool!
Leo

What was Honda thinking when they designed the Helix/Elite series? The newer look is better but still a little..... Funky? I looked on Ebay for front plastics... Nothing! not even the old style, tons of old (like mine) rear panels, but nothing for the front. I love the ride and performance of my bike but she got a problem with the nose. scooter

I didn't tell him what I thought about it.
