Sounds like a great scooter trip. We normally "truck" our scooters to the beach. About the same distance you traveled but the roads along the way have 70mph or higher speed limits. I bet the water is much prettier in Costa Rica.

Aw man! Nice weather AND shrimp?! You're killing me here, ric'!
Never mind that my new wagon doesn't have the picnic tray. I LOVE shrimp! I can go through the entire supply of shrimp on a buffet line!

You'll appreciate this then, Tom.
I visited my Dad in Belen (south of Alb). Took him and his wife to their fave Chinese buffet. All you can eat for $6--including drinks. They had the standard Chinese buffet fare, plus chilled shrimp and crab legs. I was struggling with the legs, and then our waitress foolishly brought out their "Chinese secret"--a cracker.
I bet I went through a dozen crab legs, and close to three dozen shrimp. They lost money on me that day!
MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (imagine happy full-tummy smiley here)

I'll bet the weather there in Costa Rica is GREAT! I've never been there, but was totally smitten in my college years by a missionary to Costa Rica who worked deep in the jungle. She loved the place and told me all about it. Funny thing, I am not a big fan of spiders, and she had a BIG one she somehow got past customs... She wore it on her blouse, on a little gold chain that allowed him to "roam around" from one shoulder to the other, on top of her head, etc.
The doggone thing was about the size of a dinner plate... EEEWWW! She called him "Pancho" and treated him like a loved cat or dog. She said where she lived, "Bird Spiders" were common, and were often made into pets. I was SO "in lust" with that little gal, I actually gritted my teeth and forced myself to "make friends" with Pancho. I tried to think of him as a (large) kitten with eight legs... Worked, too, until I'd get a squint at those 3/4" fangs... LOL!
I told her "What if it BITES?" She assured me it wouldn't bite. Hmmm... Well, "What if it DOES bite?" She assured me it wouldn't bite. And if it DID, it wouldn't kill me... Ah, but what if it DID bite, and it DID kill me? She assured me that if all that did happen, she'd lay hands on me and raise me from the dead... But don't worry, Pancho does NOT bite. OHHH KAYYY... I'll take YOUR word for that... Yup...
On the good side, I had a free shot at her... NO other guy would get near Pancho... On the other side, she was so virtuous that any thoughts about her that weren't pure as the driven snow would bring on fits of guilt... LOL! So for fifty years, I've associated Costa Rica with great weather, beautiful jungles, pretty missionaries and BIG spiders!
Amazing how goofy ones thoughts about a place can be when they've never been there! Sure sounds like a great place to live and ride though!
Ride safe, stay warm!

Leo (freezing at 25 degrees) in usually warm Texas You know Leo, one funny thing about Costa Rica is that it is a very small country with lots of "micro climates", for example, I live up in the mountains, this time of the year it is very cold and windy, but 2 miles down the road it is sunny and hot, then 10 miles away it is raining somewhere! You can go from a cold windy mountain to a nice sunny beach in just a few hours www.govisitcostarica.com/travelInfo/general/micro-climates.asp
