Hello all, I am a long time rider but this will be my first scooter. I am going for a super cheap Chinese bike due to budget and needs. I was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with this or a similar model? Is this a fare price?

Its a 150cc in a 50cc scooter body so its not as big as a standard 150. The price is right for that model new. There are a few guys i have met around me that have that scooter because it looks like a 50cc and they dont have a license :-) they just have to watch there speed

It is a acceptable price. And I assume you are in Phoenix area and will be picking it up at his store. It is a *BIG* difference between getting a scooter in a crate dropped at your door and getting a scooter from a brick and mortar dealer with a service shop and will be doing the DMV paperwork -- which worth at least $500 for me. www.networksolutions.com/whois/results-v2.jsp?domain=azscooter.com

I figured that getting one from a shop would make life a little easier. He also does a 6 month parts warranty which seem fair for a Chinese scooter, that should be enough time to figure out what parts are weak on that model. Thanks.

That looks like a very good buy.
The Roketa brand is old and well-known among Chinese scoots. It is likely very similar to my first scoot, a Xingyue 150. I happily rode it for over six years. It was generally good, but had a few weak spots that drove me crazy at first. Those included the CDI, coil, fuel-lines and carb air-filter design. The engine never would run or tune well with the factory air-filter "tuba" intake. A Uni "sock" filter fixed that, and a good aftermarket CDI and coil fixed the rest.
Other than fiddling with carb-tuning after getting the rest right, it was a great ride. Hopefully your dealer will be there if you need any tweaking. I also believe Chinese scooters have come a LONG way since my 2007 model.
All the really "important" parts on these are usually good quality and with minimal adjustment, your new ride should be great transportation.
Ride safe!

PS: I really like Chinese scooters. The reason I finally upsized to a used Kymco 250 was that my 150 simply would not keep up safely with changing roads and local traffic. For safety, I really needed a scooter that would run 70 mph to stay with traffic, even on streets posted 40 mph... LOL!
