Hi from Saint Pete Beach. I ride a 2010 50cc unmodified Shenke (Jonway) scooter. I used to ride a motorcycle back in the day. Now that my kids are grown I thought I'd rent a scooter at the beach and got hooked. I bought my scoot as a used dealer maintained rental. That seems to have been a good choice as the scooter has no problems. I'm researching larger scooters as I want better speed.

howdy and welcome to the forum. yes it seems that most of us who used to ride motorcycles "in the day" gravitate toward larger scooters to use for longer distance travel. I started back with a 200 and soon found myself riding mountain passes where I needed slightly more speed to be comfortable.. I ended up with a bv500 and have no gone with the bv350 and have over 15,000 miles on it now.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

Instead of buying a larger scooter I upgraded my carburetor , added a "performance" exhaust. Much improved performance.

I used to ride a Suzuki LS650 Savage, I now ride a Vespa LX150. I went with the 150 because it was light but capable of freeways and Interstates. Altho' it is marginal, going over the Grapevine it slows to 50-55 mph, only a hair faster than loaded semis. Not that it would bother you, you don't got mountains. If you don't mind the excess weight, 250+ scooters can do 75-80 mph.
