Well I finally ordered a new speedo cable " the cable broke a couple months ago " . It came yesterday so I figured I'd installed it right after it came . When the cable broke I cut about 8 inches off " up to the rubber bracket on the fender " and left the rest connected . Well needless to say I lost the 8 inch " or so " piece and when I ordered the new one I somewhat had to guess what size I needed . I ended up ordering a 38 inch cable . The cable seems to be about 2 inches longer then it should be but it seems as if it will be ok , I'll just have to make a new bracket further back on the rear front fender " no big deal " . I also had to file down the part that inserts into the speedo puck "the end rubber piece" . The end had a bigger diameter then the puck opening but the inner cable fit just right . Everything should be fine I'm just waiting for the chance to take it on a run and see how it works .
I'm gonna be posting a vid of my speedo compared to a road side radar sign to show the accuracy of my speedo " not a speed run " then I'll be posting a 10 mile run of hills and straights just to show how the scoot performs all around . I'll just have to find an angle that will capture the gauge cluster and the view of the rd while keeping both in focus . I should be able to figure it out . This time instead of using an iphone I'll borrow a buddies gopro , the vid will be much better .
Why am I doing this ? Well before I was trying to prove a point but I was to eager and messed that up pretty good . This time I'm gonna have some fun and show what's possibly with a slightly bigger bore . This won't be " I told you so " all that proving stuff is in the past . And I'm ready to show what is possible " and at the same time It will be fun "
I'm hoping to do a vid Saturday .
