Got the bags done today, and the front fender. I don't have the front fender on yet, as I have to take off the front wheel.....

just another picture of the bike with the truck, all the saddle bag trim and rails back on. I hung the front fender on it tonight but I don't have a picture of that yet. It's hard to believe that I paid 500 bucks for this bike, just a couple of months ago. (now how much would you pay?).... And I found a bangin' deal on insurance. Full coverage, 500 buck deductible, 10.50 a month... woohooo

Well, guys, I've sold this bike.... I wish I would of taken more pictures and video of this bike, but it went to a good buddy. Too bad he hasn't been so gentle with the paint. The reason I sold it? I bought a 1500 Goldwing.... bigger canvas to paint on... . I paid 1500 bucks for it, and I'm happy. That huge flat six is soooooo smooth.... My biggest complaint about the bike is it has the tall seat, so it makes getting on and off the bike a bit of a challenge. Goldwings actually had two seat options. It's a inch taller then most.

And I am passing up bikes for being too low. Tried the Victory, Chieftan and Scout and all were too low however the Enfields were just right. I think I'll hang on to the Aprilia as it still is the best fit.
An Aprilia Cuponard is about the perfect height for me without being too ponderous and the Travel Packs provide a nice amount of canvas to paint up however Aprilia Flame Red on its own has a certain appeal to it.

There should be a rule about Itallian bikes..... They should all be red!.... Kinda of like old Porsche's.... Red... only red... and old Lambo's..... Red, only Red..... Ford GT's should only be Blue with a white stripes... same with Shelby Cobra's and Elinors should only be green.... Mustang Fast backs and verts should only be red.... LOL

My 124 Spider is Flame Red and it is the right color for the car. More fun on a winding road than most others. Put the top down, put on your driving cap and let out the clutch. Can get up to 500 miles from 10 gallons of diesel.

Don't know exactly how many Fiat 124 Spiders are out there with 1.8 liter Isuzu 4FB1 Turbo Diesel engines and Isuzu MSG5-T 5 Speed transmissions however since its not a factory option there may only by the one. There is one other that I know of with one of the Volkswagen diesels that we have all been reading about lately however that one is not a street car. Until you open the hood or fuel door it looks like just about every other CS1 Series Red 124 Spider aside from the over sized Red Racing Seats.

Oh thought it was stock... anyhow that would make for a neat mod. And it's different... I get tired of everyone swapping LS engines into everything. LS swap this, and LS swap that.... Sure, the LS is a great motor, but it's become run of the mill.
On my big blazer, I'd much rather have a Cummin s swap. I even found a guy that will even do it for about 5k. Little 12v turbo... And it would make a lot of sense for that truck. It is currently running a 5.7 TBI chevy. Another great engine, just not a power horse but rock solid, proven, dependable, and parts are cheap.

You could put the 500 cubic inch Chevy engine from the Workhorse truck chassis in it. Lots of grunt power to move a 10 to 13 ton chassis and in the mid 's they were TBI. Should be plenty of old derelict motor homes out there with low mileage examples of them. The beauty of the Isusu Diesel is that it weighs about the same as the original Fiat engine so there was no need to modify the springs or front suspension to take additional weight.

The exhaust cleaners and associated gear are massive. Thankfully I live in Florida where my old car gets grandfathered in sans all that stuff as I could not afford all that plumbing.

The emssion laws here are complex... but since it's a 1991, I can convert to diesel and be smog exempt. Anything pre-OB2 in california is smog exempt if you convert it to diesel.

That was my thinking about the 1995 500 CI Chevy engines from the P30 Chassis. OBD1 so a match for whats in there and should be easier to match a transmission, etc. Should be plenty of low mileage examples in motor homes that have gotten run down in storage lots and be not worth much except for the drive trains. The ones in P30 Delivery Trucks are probably all well worn but the RV versions usually are pretty low mileage.
Do the emission laws mandate that if its a gas engine swap you have to up-convert it?

If you go gasoline then yes, you would have to up-convert.
Also, the big blocks, don't do as well with fuel economy. The 12v turbo Cummins is an easy conversion. One wire (kill) and they make the adapter plate, then all you have to do is motor mounts and a torque converter and you are good to go. 500 hp and 500 lbs of torque and 24mpg. And if you drive it like a sane man, it will last forever.
As for the Motor home motor, you still have to get rid of the motor home after you have taken the engine out. Believe me, they are hard to get rid of, especially after you pull the power train out of them.
I help out at my buddies tow yard, and believe me, tow operators cringe when they end up with one. You can't scrap them, you can't take them to you-pull-it or any other wrecker in the area. They won't take them. There is not enough scrap value to just take them to the scrap yard. They don't want them either. I can at least run whats left of a dodge pickup over the scales and even if they give you only 10 bucks for it, at least it's gone.
Do you ever watch RoadKill on youtube? They took a big block dodge engine out of a motorhome so they could use it in a charger. They had a heck of a time getting rid of the motorhome when they were done.
