I was going to run up to the auto parts to get some fuel and vacuum line/hoses for my scooter.
I would also like to have some extra on hand for the future. So what sizes should I stock up on?

When I arrived at the auto store, all they had was really thick Gates hoses... None of the see through fuel line like I was hoping for....
I bought 10' of each, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 and 5/16..... It is about 3 times thicker than the hose I replaced. It looks very durable and I may just replace the entire fuel/vacuum lines with the stuff...... It wasn't as cool looking as the stuff I wanted, but I think the hose I got will outlast the life of the scooter.

I use 1/4" clear yellow Tygon. Great stuff and really flexible too.

Won't the vinyl hoses from a pet shop get hard and brittle? I know they do when used on air hoses. Unless the gas keeps em soft....I dunno.
The silicone based hoses might work.

3/16 , I use 1/4 and hose clamps . John I've been searching for info on vacuum hose sizes. I remembered reading this response & am glad that I found it again. I don't have a GY6, I have a 250cc (244cc actual, I think?) Do you know if the 1/4 & clamps will also work for my engine?

I never did find out what size it was. If you have some calipers or another way to measure things, you might measure the OD of your nipple and give that info to the parts dealer. Perhaps you could bring them a sample or cut a little off the end of one of your lines to show the parts dealer.
