In this pic you can see I'm wide open. i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a624/xyshannen1/beach_zps75715cbb.jpgI don't ride in the rain and if I did I'm still not worried. I "might" get a little slipping, but these things turn so fast any moisture will quickly be evaporated off. I only worry about torrential downpours and deep puddles. All of which are easily avoided. And my body work on this scoot keeps your legs at a safe distance. That red bell housing looks super with your paint job. I am afraid to run without the cvt cover on for fear of cracking my swing arm or cvt case or whatever that section is called between the engine and the rear hub. We just got through the rainy season as you know. I drive in the rain. One day I hit a deep puddle and water went up over the floor boards. I heard the airbox gurgle water. I had water in my drain tube. The water immersed my CDI and didn't even phase it, but I moved it up higher on the frame just to be safe. Your scooter looks good.

Thanks for the compliments. I happened to have some spay paint I bought in an effort to touch up some spots where the previous owner had laid it down. Needless to say I didn't get an exact match...but one day wile working on my clutch I figured why not paint the bell housing.
I agree that there is maybe a danger of the swing arm being weekend by not having the cover on...For this reason I'm currently doing a chop job my my cover so it can be bolted back in place adding strength to the arm but I'm cutting enough of the face off so that I can still keep an open design and work on either the clutch or the variator. It's not done and not on my scoot cause,, well what can I say, too many projects and not enough time. I mean on top of working on the scoot I am busy doing my leather work.

You obviously cut too much off. Blaming the mod for your mistake is like saying you shouldn't waste your time using motor oil because you overfilled your oil reservoir in a GY6 and got poor results, or that tires are useless because you once tried putting 20" tires on your scooter and it didn't work out. Wrong bro no mistake, cut a hair off at a time on a lathe tested after each cut. I am a genius at this stuff you are still in the learning stage. The prove of your ability and knowledge was just posted "overfilled your oil reservoir in a GY6", SAY WHAT Alleyoop

Your all worthy and good guys and gals willing to learn and try stuff, JUST DON'T call me out and try to put me down when you lack the knowledge on this stuff, you are just asking for it . Just because I am a mod on here does not mean I will not respond in kind but because I am a mod I will respond in a nicer way after all the mechanic's pay is GREAT "A BUCK THREE EIGHTY AN HOUR". Your all worthy and good guys and gals willing to learn and try stuff, This is why I ask you and others who are more knowledgeable about this stuff to please correct me if I'm ever wrong. One thing I try not to do is talk out of my ars. Everything I say on here or in real life is either learned from first hand experience or offered as something I was told by someone who I feel/felt should know what they are talking about. This doesn't mean I'm always right. I know just how bad bad advice can be when you are dealing with mechanical situations that in the end could mean life or limb.

Sorry Bro, those are garbage do not waste your money good selling crap they mention but it does not work as advertised. They are good for Go-Karts to power around in dirt and grass on the low end but not for scooter top end what so ever. I told you guys I experimented with lots of different Variators and I bought one to try when they first came out paid good money for it $116.00 from KidMe website the DR2 Variator. I noticed they are asking even more money for it now. I tried switching different weights in the longer and shorter ramps and what not lost top end really bad actually. I tested it and sold it to a guy on this forum or on ScooterDoc I can't remember which forum but I sold it for half the price. He was not interested in top end he just wanted light to light good excel. You want a good top end Variator get a Prodigy, Dr pulley Variators are not so good for top end , a good middle of the ground good low end and good top end and AT LOWER RPMS to boot get a KOSO. Clutches don't fall for the performance ones they sell in different colors(WHICH IS A JOKE ON SOME OF THEM). They are your standard clutch with stronger clutch pad springs is all. So same some bucks and just order the springs if you want that kind of kick in the pants take off. Also if your looking for a better clutch look for one that has about a inch of more material on each clutch pad. That will allow more material to grab the bell for less slipping. I personally like the NCY clutch lots of material on the pads and it still is going strong going on 4 years now. Alleyoop

I had such good results with the Hoca with the 115 mm drive face and 12 gram rollers on my Lance Vintage that I stopped there. Jay Leno is the self declared President of the "More Money than Brains Club" and there comes a point where you are just throwing good money after bad so I will just sit back and watch as others turn their rides into money pits. Remember I got a scoot to save money not spend more. What ever I do has to show a return on the investment and not just a growing loss with a bunch of zeros adding up to the right.
