Hi everyone, i'm new here but not to scooters. I bought mine 3 years ago, a nice little 50cc retro style scooter made by Benzhou and i love to take it apart as much as i love riding it.
I live in Laval, just north of Montréal QC (yup, the Great White North), im a butcher by day and grease monkey by night. I have a 8 years old daughter, the best wife i could ever have and freaking cat.
The first time i had my butt on my scooter i got addicted. Its not my hobby , passion and soon it will also be a small part time job (more on that later).
What i mostly like to do is to go for long rides. First year i got it, i made a 2 day 300 km round trip. At the time it still was only a 50cc and it took me forever to get to my destination but i loved every minute of it. Last year the scooter was upgraded with a 150cc shortcase engine and i went for a 3 days 1000km ride to nowhere. The ride was a blast; small tent, sleeping bag, clean undies and some tools.
I'm now in the process of installing a 150cc longcase engine, and next summer i'm going for a 1200-1500 km ride to Perce QC.
You'll see more of the build as i work on the scooter and post stuff in the build section.
Glad to be here and thx for having me along.

Welcome to the forum good to have you on here. I see your a wrench-er good to have a wrench-er on the forum. Not to many have done a 150 in a 50cc frame due to the mounts being opposite of each other. So either you weld or have someone weld or buy a conversion kit.
So tell us which route you took to mount the 150 in a 50cc frame and by all means post pics of the current upgrade from a short case to a long case and tell us why you want t long case. Alleyoop

Here is my modified frame from my 50cc shortcase to 150cc shortcase swap. Its made with an old bed frame i had laying around. I dont know what kind of steel it is, but it was a real pain in the butt to cut and drill.
The 50cc swing arm was used because im kind of a "do with what you have" kind of guy. (or if you prefer im a deluxe redneck).
I took almost 2 full day to slap this on to make sure everything was properly aligned.
If anyone is thinking of doing th same, just make sure you got the right jet in your carb BEFORE mounting the whole gizmo. Getting the carb out is a real pain in the
The scooter then took my butt on 3 nice long trip (300 km the same day, 1000km in 3 days, and 600 km in 1 day) So its might looka bit like a redneck job, but its way more solid then anything else on the bike.
Oups!!! Wrong picture
